Here's the scoop on signing up for various lesbian
or gay email lists, plus weekly lesbian coffee info
and the lesbian and gay events website.
To get on the long-standing Eugene LGBT email list started by Alan Brown, send a blank email message to lanelgbt-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, then reply to the confirmation message they will send you. Alternatively, if you have or are willing to create a Yahoo ID, you can go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lanelgbt, read the blurb, and press the Join This Group button. You can also read recent messages from the list there.
Eugene Lavender Women is probably the largest local lesbian email list. They are loosely associated with groups in Salem and Portland. There are monthly potlucks at Kori's house, which are lovely. It's a useful source of information for events around town. To join the ELW list, send a blank email message to eugenelavenderwomyn-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, then reply to the confirmation message they will send you. If you are interested in Soromundi Lesbian Chorus of Eugene, you can get on its community email list by emailing Lorraine. (I'm in charge of their email lists.) The list includes lots of women who are not chorus members, and there are many non-music items posted, but it focusses somewhat on chorus social activity. Soromundi is open to new singers each September, sometimes only for a couple of weeks, so be sure to follow the schedule if you want to join.
Once you're a member of any of the above lists, you can post messages when you wish.
Lesbian Coffee is now a Eugene institution every Saturday morning 10:00am - noon. It is at a different location each week. In my experience, there is a largely different crowd each week, and the size of the gathering varies widely also. To get on the email list so you'll find out the locations each month, email Julia at wildwomencoffeeclub@gmail.com.

IMO queereugene.com is THE place to find out what's happening around town. Click on What's Happening to see upcoming events. Click on Lesbian, then click on Lesbian Groups (on the far right) to see recurring events (note that a few of these are not quite up to date, unlike the What's Happening button, which is generally always current).

Lavender Womyn is a lesbian social group, which
originally started in Salem, Oregon, but has grown
so much that they have branched off into more
chapters in Eugene, Corvallis-Albany, and Portland.
There is now a Lavender Womyn group in Kentucky.

GLBT Movie Night
Group Purpose:
The purpose or mission of the group is to provide an opportunity to view, enjoy and discuss GLBT films. The films to be shown are "GLBT" in that they contain GLBT themes or involve the work of GLBT actors, directors, writers, etc. Anyone interested in GLBT films is welcome and encouraged to attend. Group participants are invited and encouraged to host, but there is never any obligation to do so. A group discussion will be held after each film is shown.
Background:
The GLBT Movie Night group here in the Eugene/Springfield area meets EVERY Thursday night to view a GLBT film and discuss it afterward. It's a nice way to meet and chat with fans of GLBT cinema. We start the film at 7:30pm, but start arriving at 7:00pm to socialize and chat. We view the film at the home (or other chosen location) of one of our members. The hostess or host welcomes the movie group EVERY Thursday night for one month, then we move to another member's place for the next month, and so on. Although we started with a core group of 10-15 people, we've recently been having steady turnouts of about 20+ people!

Classes are taught by a professional dance instructor. LezDance is restructuring as a club, so we are at the leading front of our lebsian community's ballroom dance needs. Keep checking in to learn more about the day, place and cost of future lessons and future activities.
All women who love to dance with women are welcome to join us and scholarships are available as needed. Learn to Rhumba, Foxtrot, Swing, Chacha, Waltz, and more! No partner or experience needed and it's fun!

Womenspace has started a new support group for any
one who is or has been in an abusive(verbal and/or
physical) relationship with a same sex partner.

Soromundi: Lesbian Chorus of Eugene
Soromundi is a community of women who love to sing
together. We meet weekly from September to June,
and average about 15 performances a season. We are
open to any woman wanting to sing with us.
Soromundi’s Mission Statement: “Soromundi comes

community. We work to improve our musical abilities
and aspire to empower ourselves through music. We

Talkie Walkies
The Talkie Walkies are a diverse queer men's and
women's social group that started out as a weekly
morning walk with a stop for coffee and
conversation. Over the years, we have added other
events, including going to movies and dinner out,
hikes, attending plays and concerts, camping, going
to track meets, and other fun activities. We
usually meet every Wednesday at 9 AM at Alton Baker
Park and then walk along the Willamette River, with
a stop at 5th Street Public Market for coffee and
an activity planning meeting. From that meeting, a
Talkie Walkie Update, a calendar of upcoming
activities, is developed and e-mailed to interested
persons. A core group of about 15 people are
involved, with over 50 people on the e-mail list
who join us for the activities they wish to attend.
