Betrayed and almost killed by her police
partner, PsiAgent Rebecca Curtains is
understandably reluctant to take on a new one,
despite the danger in working alone. When she
finds out that the Violent Crimes loner,
Detective Genie Marshall, is scheduled to be
the replacement, reluctance turns to outright
apprehension.
In becoming partners with the resident
telepath, Detective Genie Marshall has been
given a second chance to become a 'real' cop
again, and she knows it. After the death of her
last partner, Genie has worked alone, not
wanting to risk herself like that again. It
won't make her any more popular with the other
detectives, but then, being popular has never
been on Genie's list. Get the job done right,
and with as little bloodshed as possible, has
always been her motto.
After a rocky start, the two women forge a
strong partnership that allows them to solve
crimes faster and more accurately than ever.
The partnership grows into something deeper
than friendship as they begin a journey that
brings the hidden aspects of their lives to the
surface. When Rebecca is attacked,
telepathically and physically, it's a race to
discover who's behind it; the leader of
UnderTEM, a group bent on wiping out all
telepaths, or a random psycho with telepathic
powers of his or her own.
It is only by trusting in each other, and their
new bond, that they'll find the killer. If they
dont, Rebecca's very sanity will be the cost of
failure.
