About the Q: a queer resource for social change

In December 2009, the Q Center closed its doors. After years of attempting to create an LGBTQ community center, it was decided by the board and the voting members that it was time to close the storefront and regroup. A new board was installed with new energy for building again, from the ground up, the support for the original vision. After several months, it became clear that the board was unable to move ahead and a special membership meeting was called.

In April 2010, the voting members of the Q voted for a new board and approved a new direction for the Q. Amber Dennis, Carol Dennis, and Jesse Davis offered to take the reigns and work toward creating an online presence for the Q. The vision is to make the Q: a Queer Resource for Social Change a central hub for online resources and tools to promote equity and education for and about the LGBTQ community.

We hope to have the new website live by end of July 2010.
